There are 4 principles and ordinances of the Gospel. The fourth Article of Faith says,
"We believe that the first four principles and ordinances of the Gospel are first, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, second repentance, third baptism by immersion for the remission of sins, and fourth, laying on of hands for the Gift of the Holy Ghost."
First, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith in Jesus Christ means even though we don't know something, He knows it. Alma 32:21 says, "If ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true”.
Second, repentance. Repentance means if you do something bad, you can say a prayer to Heavenly Father and say you're sorry and ask Him to forgive you.
Third, baptism by immersion. Baptism means that all your bad sins you've done will be washed away.
Fourth, laying on of hands for the Gift of the Holy Ghost. This means now you have the Holy Ghost with you and He'll make sure you're safe and give you comfort if you do the right choices. And when you do the bad choices, you feel guilty about it.
If we follow these steps, we will be able to come back to Jesus when we die and come to heaven. Mosiah 3:17 says, "that there shall be no other name ... nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ".
I bear my testimony that these steps guide me back to God so I can be with Him again.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
